Post Election

Yes, its been awhile since my last post, too many interesting things happening i suppose.... i must say i'm quite surprised at the results of the election, or rather the quantum of it all.... never would i thought that selangor would fall into the hands of the opposition.... and while i was very apprehensive at the beginning, i suppose it would be good for the country to have a stronger and more powerful opposition challenging the government....

However, the early signs do not thrill me, and the PR stunts such as waiving away of the summons by 2 states, while another bozo move to issue free football tickets which subsequently caused chaos at the stadium only vindicated my feelings about the opposition.... the fact that they had so much trouble forming a government is the strongest piece of evidence that not only were they prepared to lead the country, but they were not even expecting such a result.... though i must say the ruling government themselves are in quite a mess trying to sort out their own states to govern....sigh....

oh, and i still see election posters lying around, though at least most of it have been taken down.... still, i'm quite amused that the pages and pages are still filled with post election events, it makes me wonder, what was in the newspapers then before the election date was announced by our PM.... oh well.....

for me,life goes on as usual, and i'm still waiting to see what happens.... i sense a lot of disgruntlement from a lot of people, and they're not solely from a single race.... its a new beginning for Malaysia, and i do hope that our so called "leaders" will heed the lessons dished out by the rakyat, and make this country one that we can all be proud to call ours......

Election Fever

Its an event that only comes around once every 5 years or so.... and along with it, comes the candidates, making all sweet promises, saying all the right things, or saying the things that they think the rakyat would like to hear....

And as citizens of our country, we have a duty, a duty to go register ourselves as voters (if we have not done so already) and cast our votes..... and until then, we listen and we ponder, before the big day this Sat....

Honestly, I already know who I'm going to vote for, so all the things that I hear doesnt really matter, my mind is more or less made up.... so I would like to say that the elections doesnt really bother me, neither does it affect me....

Only that it does.... it bothers me that promises are made, which later are not kept.... it bothers me even more when some of the promises made are so ridiculous and outlandish, that these people were of the opinion that I as part of the voting public would believe such promises....

I'm also annoyed with how some of the campaign posters are plastered all over the place, making places such as ugly eye-sore, that I'm glad these posters are not found anywhere near my house....

I'm concerned that the posters are placed with little regard for the safety for the public.... These posters are plastered all over roadsides, creating all sorts of blindspots when I have to navigate my way to work.....

I'm annoyed that come the end of the election, these posters are left flapping in the wind.... The posters could be put up with such enthusiasm, but neither the winners or the losers bothers to take it down after the dust has settled....

I cant wait for the elections to be over, perhaps then the right people will start work again and actually act on their promises..... But in hoping for the posters to be removed, I guess that's just something that's too much to ask for....
