Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!

Sing Jia Yu Ee, Sing Ni Huak Chai.... i just wished you a happy chinese new year in Tew Chew, may it be a prosperous year ahead..... Its a little sad that I could not be in Bangkok this year to celebrate it with my family there.... the line above is a necessity if you are to collect your ang pows, wishing ur elders in Thai isnt enough for you to be given ang pows.... which is no wonder why us young ones picked it up so quickly..... its also no wonder why i cant say anything else in Tew Chew :)

I spent a very quiet and uneventful CNY in KL, and while I missed the merriness I'd have enjoyed with my Thai cousins, I also appreciated the quiet downtime I could not get in the earlier 3 weeks of the year, due to the workload.... so it was good to have a break and wind down.....

I also enjoyed the lack of jams, though the malls were still crowded with people who chose not to travel back to their hometowns (or did not have any hometowns).... Its the first time in many years that I stay behind in KL during the CNY break, and I loved the peace and quiet I never get during any other time of the year.... even today, the carpark in the office was less than half full, a spectacle I've never witnessed in my many (wow, it has been many) years in EY....

And i wish all those people would stay where they are, and let me enjoy a few more quiet moments in KL.... the not so jammed roads..... the ample parking spots in the carparks..... the simple pleasures in life.....

Or i guess i could just get out of Klang Valley and stay in some kampung....

Happy CNY everyone, hope you all have a great year of the Ox ahead!!

Hellow 2009, goodbye 2008

Its been awhile since my last entry.... Its something I've mentioned to a lot of people, time passes by so quickly, as 2008 has flown by in a blur.... I almost dont want to blink as 2010 might creep up on me without me realising it!!

2008 was a landmark year for me professionally, where I've finally made it to Manager.... even though it was 6 months later, one could argue it was due to company policies, still.... I suppose, at least I've made it....

But I cant really remember much of what has happened, life seemed to have revolved around work, though I did manage to find time to continue my salsa classes, I joined a gym, started tango (which I am finding it hard to keep up with now).....

2009 I feel may prove to be much tougher, and not just because of the economic situation.... I feel as if I've reached a major turning point in life, where I have to make certain decisions.... I hope I make the correct ones.....

Am hoping for the best, and may all of you also have a great 2009 ahead!
