It was one of those crazy weekends.... There were numerous sales going on over the long weekend, as Labour Day fell on a Thursday, SL and I had taken Friday off to get a 4 day weekend.... And to go for the Zara/Ted Baker sale at Corus Hotel, the FJ Benjamin sale at Bangsar Village, MPH sale opposite the Income Tax office in Kelana Jaya and the RSH sale near Summit....

I was quite disappointed with the things on sale, though I wasnt too surprised at the turnout.... well, at Corus Hotel anyway.... a line of around 100 ppl waited ahead of us when we arrived 15 minutes before the sale was about to start.... Note to self, Ted Baker warehouse sales prices are exactly the same as those during the sales at the regular stores, so in the future, dont bother....

Using the Corus Hotel experience, I thought getting to Bangsar Village half an hour before the sale was due to start was sufficient time to get ahead of the crowd.... After all, it was meant for HSBC card holders only, and not to outsiders.... So imagine the shock when we had to start lining up to enter, from one floor down..... there must have been a good 500 people in front of me, and the sales hadnt even started yet.... Either there are plenty of HSBC card holders out there, or they had no choice but to open it up to the general public a day early....

Thankfully, RSH and MPH sales were less chaotic, though I was 10 minutes away from paying for my books when there was a power cut, forcing me to return the next day to pick up and pay for my books....

Still, it never ceases to amaze me, the length at which Malaysians go through in order to get themselves a good deal.... or so we think anyway.... because some of the things in the FJ Benjamin sale was still downright expensive, and ordinarily, I'm sure people wont buy it at that price.... but because you're in that mindset where its a warehouse sale, everything in there must be a good deal, so if you like it, you buy it as you wont be able to find a better deal elsewhere, and end up buying stuff you may end up not wearing or buying in the future.....

I hate big crowds, but I must say that people were very civilised, making the experience less painful.... would i ever want to go back for one? of course not!! haha, but knowing me, I probably would make that trip, if my other half wants to, and if there was something that i really really needed.... like books and perhaps a pair of running shoes.....

and oh, i believe Levis and Calvin Klein are having a sale somewhere on Jalan Tandang too this weekend :)
